SEARS, MARION GRACE – It is with great sadness the family announces the passing of Marion Grace (Gallagher) Sears which occurred at the Loch Lomond Village on Wednesday, December 10th, 2014. Born 1922, in Springhill, NS, she was the daughter of the late Leslie and Isabel (Boss) Gallagher. Marion worked in retail at Sears for many years. She was an active member of Chance Harbour Baptist Church and Main St. (Rivercross) Baptist Church. Marion is survived by her four sons Roy (Jan) of Darlings Island, Leslie (Jean Mahaney) of Saint John, Carl (Miriam) of Garson, ON and Wayne (Lynda) of Middleton, NS; grandchildren Melinda, Pam, Tracey, Roy “JR”, Christopher, Kimberly, Leslie, Christine, Jeffrey and Sharmain; many great-grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren; as well as several nieces, nephews and friends. Besides her parents, Marion was predeceased by her husband Roy, son Gary, brothers James and Leslie and sister Helen Ranta.
Arrangements are under the direction of Fundy Funeral Home, 230 Westmorland Road (646-2424). At this time there will be no visitation or funeral service. Following cremation, a graveside service will be held in June 2015 at Chance Harbour Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations in Marion’s memory may be made to River Cross Baptist Church or to the charity of the donor’s choice.
