Glaidus Clark
CLARK, GLAIDUS - It is with a heavy heart we announce the death of Glaidus Clark of Fredericton, NB, which occurred at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Hospital on December 10, 2014. She was the daughter of the late Lorne and Phoebe (Banks) MacDonald and the wife of the late Harry "Toots" Clark. Born in Marysville, on June 25, 1924, Glaid lived her entire life in Fredericton. She is survived by her daughters Lorna (Reid) Pert, Janice Brewer (Stewart MacDougall) (Edmonton, AB), grandson Reid Pert (Faye Richardson), granddaughter Heather Pert, great-grandson Alexander Pert, several nieces, nephews and several great-nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her parents; husbands, Harry (Toots) Clark, Max Brewer and Jack Reid: one son, Steven; two brothers, Clair and Murray; and son-in-law, Sandy Pert. Glaidus has had several careers with the most recent being in admitting at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Hospital. She was actively involved with the St. Andrew’s Presbyterian Church, The Epsilon Golden Games, Royal Canadian Legion, Stepping Stones Senior Centre and DECH Auxiliary. She had a rich full life, was very generous with her time and resources and had a great love for her community. Glaidus was best known for her sense of humour, engaging personality, feisty spirit and striking fashion. She loved to cook and share her exceptional culinary skills with any and all that enjoyed her efforts. You could always count on her for an entertaining story and the gift of laughter. Glaidus leaves behind an exceptional life legacy along with family and numerous friends.
There will be no visitation by request. The Memorial Service will be held at St. Andrew’s Presbyterian Church on December 30, 2014 at 2 p.m. with Reverend Doug Blaikie officiating. For those who wish, memorial tributes may be made to Stan Cassidy Rehabilitation Centre, Fredericton Food Bank, or the Fredericton Community Kitchen. Due to severe allergies the family requests that you please refrain from wearing scents of any kind. Thank you very much for your consideration in this matter. The family would like to extend a special thank you to nursing staff at Dr. Everett Chalmers 4SE wing for their care and attention, Dr. Cal Bruce for his years of attention to her and a special thank you to Dr. Nicholas Keschtkar for his compassion and caring for her and family members. Also Glaid’s family would like to express special thanks to Larry Nason, Heather Storey, Jan Smith, Sarah Brodeur, her adopted grand-daughter Shelley MacDonald, and all others who offered her support over the past few years.
