CROUSE, MYRTLE GERALDINE - Myrtle G. Crouse of Shaw’s Special Care Home, Waterville, NB and formerly of Fredericton, NB, passed away at the Upper River Valley Hospital on December 16, 2014. Myrtle was born at Zealand, NB in 1923, a daughter of the late Frank and Florence (Brewer) Merrithew. Myrtle enjoyed reading her Bible every day, knitting, crocheting, cooking and quilting. She is survived by two daughters, Marlene Steeves (Herman), Fredericton, NB and Elaine Walton (Donald), Charleston, Carleton Co., NB; a son, Myles Crouse (Judy Doak-Crouse), Hanwell, NB; a son-in-law, Phillip Walton, Charleston, NB; eleven grandchildren, twenty-two great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren; one brother, Lorne Merrithew (Rose), Burtts Corner, NB; several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Austin Crouse in 2003; two daughters, Helena Walton and infant Wilma May Crouse; two grandsons, Terry and Larry Walton; a great-granddaughter, Amy Richard; five sisters, Georgina Brewer, Effie Burtt, Nellie Brewer, Juanita London and infant Marina Merrithew; three brothers, Henry, David and infant Paul Merrithew.
Visiting hours will be held at Flewelling Funeral Home, 585 Otis Drive, Nackawic, NB on Thursday evening from 6 to 8 p.m. Funeral service will be held on Friday, December 19, 2014 at 2 p.m. from the funeral home chapel with Rev. Dale Brewer and Rev. Steven Matthews officiating. A reception will follow at the funeral home. Interment will be later at the Stone Ridge Community Cemetery.
