Minnie Attis
ATTIS, MINNIE - Minnie Attis, of Moncton, surrounded by her loving family, passed away peacefully at The Moncton Hospital on Wednesday, December 17, 2014. Born in Moncton, she was the daughter of the late Louis and Vita Leah (David) Attis. Minnie attended Tiferes Israel Synagogue. After the loss of her husband at a very young age, Minnie devoted her entire life to her children and extended family. Whether at home or at the cottage, her door was always open to friends and family. She was renowned for her homemade bagels and daffodil cakes. She was the “hostess with the mostest”. Minnie will be sadly missed by her children, David (Margaret) of Moncton, Hilton (Mark Spears) of Truro, NS and Sanford (Rosalyn) of Moncton; grandchildren, Yona, Samara, Leyla, Aviva, Marissa, Ariella, Dan, Marc and Simcha; six great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. Minnie was the last surviving member of her immediate family. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Jacob Attis (October 1956) and son, Morton (2009) (Peggy); sisters, Jean, Betty, Sarah, Mary and infant, Ada; brothers, Simon and Ben.
