Passed peacefully away in the presence of his loving family at the Carbonear General Hospital on Wednesday, December 17, 2014, John Joseph Hurley of Kingston, age 83 years. Predeceased by wife: Elizabeth 'Betty'; parents: Frank and Sarah; sisters: Margaret (William) Merrigan and Mary Hurley. Left to mourn, one daughter: Mary (JR) Fagan, Carbonear; one son: Philip (Susan), Carbonear; three grandchildren: Sarah, Emma and Noah; three brothers: Edmund and Frankie, both of Kingston and Mike (Alverna), Buchans; four sisters: Cecily, Loretta and Alice, all of Kingston and Julie (Pat) Doyle, Gull Island; brothers-in-law: Dan (Patsy) Delaney and Joe (Bev) Delaney, both of Gull Island, Francis (Maisie) Delaney and Phil Delaney, both of Carbonear and Cyril Delaney, Ontario; sister-in-law: Christine (Harvey) Button, Old Perlican and little buddy: Skip; also a number of nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends. Rested at Noel's Funeral Home, Carbonear. Fr. Michael Barker conducted the Funeral Mass on Saturday, December 20 from St. Joseph's Roman Catholic Church, Kingston.
