WEBBER, EVELYN "EVIE" M. – After a courageous battle with cancer, Evelyn "Evie" Marie Webber passed into the hands of God on December 26th, 2014 surrounded by her loving family at her home in Quispamsis. She was born in Saint John, New Brunswick on May 27th, 1950 a daughter of the late David M. and Joyce M. (Dennison) Webber. Lovingly survived by her sister Christine (Chris) Little (Darrell); her brother Michael Webber (Deborah); her best friend, soul mate, cousin and caregiver: Gwen Greene; nephews: David Little, Neil Webber, Lucas Webber; niece Sarah Little as well as many uncles, aunts, cousins and dear friends. She had a tremendous love of learning and was a graduate of the University of New Brunswick, BA, BEd and MEd and attended Baylor University, Waco, TX. Evie was a well respected and much loved teacher and principal at Woodlawn and Grandview Avenue Elementary Schools before her retirement in 2005. Evelyn enjoyed spending her retirement years between her home in Quispamsis and with Gwen and her family in Waco, TX. She dearly loved her family and will be greatly missed by the many people whose lives she touched. Evie’s priorities were always her family and her faith. She was an active member of St. Mark’s Catholic Church and was a Eucharistic minister and a member of the Little Rock Bible Study Group. She was also a member of St. Jerome Church, Waco, Texas and volunteered at the Caritas Thrift Store and was a member of the Ladies of Charity.
Resting at Brenan’s Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (634-7424) with visiting on Monday and Tuesday, December 29 and 30, 2014 from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 am on Wednesday, December 31, 2014 from St. Mark’s Catholic Church, 171 Pettingill Road, Quispamsis, NB. The burial will take place at St. Joseph’s Cemetery on Friday, January 2, 2015 at 10:00 am.
