Helen Neufeld
Helen Neufeld - April 7, 1933 - November 21, 2014
Helen Neufeld, mother of Norman, Allan and Don Abramyk lost her battle with cancer November 21, 2014 in Meadow Lake, SK.
Helen was the youngest child born to Peter and Marie (Rempel) Neufeld. She was born and
raised in the Carrot River, Sk. district. Helen left Carrot River and lived in Moose Jaw and Prince
Albert, Sk., and spent the last twenty years or so living in Prince George, B.C. She returned to
Saskatchewan for the last five months of her life and was able to spend time with family that
she had not seen for many years.
Helen was a caregiver, she raised her sons and then returned to Carrot River to care for her
Mother and Father during their last years. When both of her parents passed Helen accepted
responsibility for two of her sisters, Lizzie and Annie, and cared for them until they too passed.
Helen was predeceased by her parents, Peter and Marie Neufeld, all of her siblings, Mary, Lizzie,
Annie, Peter and Kay as well as her former husband Paul Abramyk.
Helen is survived by her son Norman (Sandra) Abramyk, their daughter Dawna (Russell)
Villeneuve and their daughters Miranda and Trista all of Meadow Lake, Sk., her son Allan
Abramyk of Vancouver, B.C., her son Don (Joanne) Abramyk of Prince Albert, Sk., and their four
children Daniel (Tara) Abramyk of Dalmeny, Sk., daughter Megan (G.R.) Yannacoulias and their
children, Dylan, Penny and George of Saskatoon, SK., David (Aileen) Abramyk and daughter
Haley of Prince Albert, Sk., and daughter Hannah Abramyk and her daughter Erica of Prince
Albert, SK.
At Helen's request she was cremated and her sons will honour her privately at a future date.
The family thanks the staff of Meadow Lake hospital, and all of the friends and volunteers
who gave their time and support.
