All those who knew our father, I’m sure, will be as shaken and deeply saddened as we were to learn he died by suicide.
Roy was born in Fort William (Thunder Bay) ON but lived most of his life in BC, retiring to the Sunshine Coast in 1992.
He was an avid fitness buff and spent much of his time at the swimming pools in both Gibsons and Sechelt. Dad spoke often of how much he enjoyed the staff and patrons at both facilities, and we would like to express our gratitude to all of you for your kindness.
Roy was predeceased by the love of his life, Norie; our mother Shirley; and his grandson Ryan. He leaves behind his children Donna (Tim), Sandra (Kirk) and George; grandchildren Jim, Sarah, Jason, Ryan, Michelle, Heather and Jordan; and great-grandchildren Nathan, Ashton, Aiden, Isabel and Taylor.
We will miss his story-telling, quirky sayings, uniqueness and his love.
No service will be held at Roy’s request.
