Robert Curwin
CURWIN, ROBERT "BOB" L. - The death of Robert “Bob” Curwin, 81, of Moncton, occurred at The Moncton Hospital on Thursday, January 1, 2015 due to complications related to Parkinson’s. Born in Rexton, NB on September 2, 1933, he was the son of the late Ralph and Marjorie (Clark) Curwin. His working career of over 37 years at CN Telecommunications started as a messenger delivering telegrams and he was Area Operations Supervisor, Eastern Region at the time of his retirement. He was recently quoted as saying “Faith, Family and sense of humour” are the three things most important to him and have carried him through life. His faith has been his guide, strength and anchor. He has been a long active member of First Baptist Church, having served on various boards and committees and was also deacon emeritus. He was passionate about supporting New Life Mission, and what it meant for the community. He gave freely of his time and served as a Board member for over 25 years. Bob grew up in a family that was close and relationships have remained strong. We are thankful for the family support which helped him maintain an active and positive life while living with Parkinson’s. He took great pride in leading “Team Curwin” at the annual Parkinson’s Super Walk bringing with him many family and friends to walk alongside him. Bob had a great positive outlook and sense of humour and down to the end he said “Pick it up people, don’t look so sad.” He was married for over 63 years and is survived by his wife, Verna (Lounder). In addition he is survived by his daughters, Kathy Curwin, Jenny Beers (Garth) and son, David Curwin (Kathy) all of Moncton area and his five grandchildren, Sean MacDonald, Kate Curwin, Laura Whalen, Emily Whalen and Lana Carver; several great-grandchildren; sisters, Anna LeBlanc, Betty Swetnam; brothers, Jim (Marje), Claude (Helen), Bill (Linda), Bernie (Christine Norris) all from Moncton area and Gerry (Joan) of Florida; several nieces, nephews and extended family members.
