SWEENEY, ROBERT - Robert James “Bob” Sweeney passed away peacefully at Lakeridge Health, Bowmanville on Saturday, January 3, 2015 at the age of 76 years. Bob, beloved husband of Norene for 52 years. Loving father of Trish Sweeney (Sean), Mike Sweeney (Alison) and Joanne Sweeney Birstonas (Ben). Loved grandfather of Christina (Ian), Carrolyn (Daniel), Adam, Emma, Lily, Rob, Victoria and Liv, and great-grandfather of Hannah and Paityn. Dear brother of Carol Ann Arora (Tony) and predeceased by his sister Marie Brown and parents Frank and Irene Sweeney. Also missed by his nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held at the NEWCASTLE FUNERAL HOME, 386 Mill Street S., Newcastle (just north of 401 at first lights) on Wednesday, January 7, 2015 from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. A funeral Mass will take place at St. Francis of Assisi Roman Catholic Church (214 King Ave. E., Newcastle) on Thursday, January 8, 2015 at 11 a.m. Interment Bond Head Cemetery.
