January 7, 1950 - January 4, 2015: Evelyn Burton, nee George, passed away on Sunday January 4, 2015 at the Health Sciences complex. Evelyn, formerly of Marystown was the daughter of the late Lee and Judy George and is the widow of the late Ed Burton. She was a loving partner, mother, step-mother and step grandmother. In addition to her partner Jerry Vink, she is survived by her daughter Nichola Burton, son Mark (Carly) Burton, stepson Carlos (Amanda) Vink, step grandsons Austin and Carson. As well she leaves behind brothers and sisters Margaret (Phonse) Murphy, Ed George, Pauline (Chris) Pawson, Brenda (Clarence) Pardy, Ron George, Gerard George, Monica (Dan) Balson, Nick (Krista) George and many nieces and nephews in all parts of Canada. She is also mourned by friends in Nova Scotia, New Brunswick, California and Holland. Evelyn grew up in Marystown and lived for many years in Baker Lake in the Northwest Territories and in Toronto, Ontario. After returning to this province she lived in St. John's where she made a deep impact on the lives of her friends and family. Evelyn was a great cook and she passed this love on to her children. Moreover, she enjoyed preparing meals for all those that came to visit. She was always ready to assist those in need of help and thus enriched the lives of so many people. Visitation to take place at Caul's Funeral Home LeMarchant Road on Thursday, January 8 from 2 p.m. - 4 p.m. and 7 p.m. - 9 p.m. and on Friday, January 9 from 2 p.m. - 4 p.m. Funeral Mass to take place on Saturday, January 10, 2015 from Holy Family Parish, Paradise at 10 a.m. with inurnment to follow at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery.
