It is with great sadness that the families of Courtney Doris Mae Reid announce her sudden passing at the Western Memorial Regional Hospital on Monday, January 5th, 2015, at the age of 29 years. Leaving to mourn with fond and precious memories her mother; Donna nee Hann, her father; Guy (Nancy) Reid, her brother; Craig (Krista) Reid, her sister; Christa (Scott) Wilton, her Twin brother; Chad (Kerri-Leigh) Reid, her step sister; Julie (Kyle) Burt, & her step brother; Jamie (Kim) Burt, her nieces, & nephews; Nicholas, Melissa, & Matthew Reid, Ava & Alex Wilton, Kyler & Makenna Reid, her special Fur baby Sassy, her grandparents; Robert & Doris Hann, also leaving to mourn a number of other relatives, extended families, special friends, & her teaching colleagues. Courtney was predeceased by her grandparents; Eli & May Reid. Courtney received her bachelor of Education at Grenfell in 2007, then went to teach in Natuashish, Labrador for 2 years along with her 2 childhood friends. After 2 years she moved to Hopedale where she became an intergal part of the community. Also becoming an expert in Native Labrador crafts This would be her 6th year in Hopedale.
In lieu of flowers donations can be made in Courtney's memory to The Amos Conenius Memorial School, Breakfast program in Hopedale, Labrador, The email address to this is (dcoombs@lsb.ca). The family will be receiving family and friends on Thursday, January 8th, 2015, from the hours of 2-4 & 7-9 pm. The funeral service will take place on Friday, January 9th, 2015, at 2: pm, from the Salvation Army Church in Deer Lake, NL, with Major's: Wayne & Betty-Ann Pike officiating withe burial to follow at the Deer Lake Interdenominational Cemetery, on Wight's Road, Deer Lake, NL.
