JOHNSON, STANLEY - With heavy broken hearts the family announces the passing of Stanley Johnson Sr, loving husband of 53 years to Pauline (Metcalfe) Johnson, which occurred on Wednesday, January 7, 2015 at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Born 1939 in North Shields, England, U.K., he was the son of the late Stanley and Davina (Wilson) Johnson. Stan was employed with Kent Line, Irving Oil for 37 years, retiring in 2009. In addition to his wife Pauline, he is survived by his sons Paul (Debbie) and Stan Jr. both of Saint John, Colin (Debbie) of Toronto, ON and Victor (Tanja) of Germany; daughter Sharon Johnson of Saint John; brothers Derek (Audrey) and Brian (Karen) both of the U.K.; sisters Miriam Maughan and Linda (Ken) Readman both of the U.K.; grandchildren Andrew, Corey, Stephanie, Christopher, Courtney, Amy and Sara and one great-grandchild Destiny; Pauline’s twin sister Esther and her husband Larry Whale; numerous nieces and nephews. The family would like to take this opportunity to thank the staff of MICU and Dialysis Unit of the Saint John Regional Hospital for the wonderful care shown to Stan.
Following cremation, visitation will be held at Fundy Funeral Home, 230 Westmorland Road (646-2424) on Friday, January 9, 2015 from 4 to 8 p.m. A Memorial Service will be held from Fundy Funeral Home Chapel on Saturday, January 10, 2015 at 1 p.m. In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate donations made to the SJRH Dialysis Unit or the charity of one’s choice. www.fundyfuneralhome.com
