Rose Boyle

ROSE DELFINE BOYLE, formerly of Moose Jaw passed away at the age of 96 on January 2, 2015 in Edmonton, Alberta. Born in Winnipeg on March 7, 1918 she spent her formative years in the Old Wives area. She was a dedicated nurse - full of compassion and care for people in need - and developed knowledge far beyond the norm for nurses of her time. She was heavily involved in the design of what is now the emergency ward at the Moose Jaw Union Hospital. After retiring from nursing she tried her hand at real estate before retiring permanently and moving to Edmonton.
As a mother she was always busy with her eight children, doing the best for us and our home. Mom always set the tone for what the family was to do. She encouraged us to be involved in lots of activities (including music lessons - but not much luck there!) and taught us to be self-reliant and hardworking. Mom always guided us in the right direction but never stopped showing love for us if we went in the wrong direction. Her singing and dancing will always bring back fond memories.
Mom’s final years were marked with severe dementia. During that time we came to appreciate even more how important she was to us.
In addition to her parents, brothers, and numerous other relatives, Mom was predeceased by her husbands Orville Boyle (2005) and Don Little (2011) as well as one daughter Theresa (1946). She is survived by her sister Del, sons Garth, Patrick (Susan), Michael (Natalia), Brian (Judie), Gary (Donna), Dillon (Joan), Joe (Dawn) and daughter Cheryl, as well as 14 grandchildren, six great-grandchildren and a large extended family.
Donations in memory of Rose can be made to DYING WITH DIGNITY CANADA at #802, 55 Eglinton Ave. E., Toronto, Ontario M4P 1G8
A service for Rose will be held at a later date.
