Boyd Densmore Lyttle, age 91, of Garlands Crossing, formerly of Ellershouse, Hants County, passed away on Sunday, January 18, 2015, at the Hants Community Hospital, Windsor. Born on April 12, 1923, in Ellershouse, Hants County, Nova Scotia, he was the son of the late Charles and Jane (Densmore) Lyttle. Boyd was a hard worker, having operated heavy equipment since the age of 16. He was never idle, having built a Model T car, a wood splitter and a saw mill. Boyd is survived by his wife of 67 years, the former Dora “Mickey” Maxine Harvey; his twin brother, Lloyd (Audrey), Dykeland Lodge, Windsor; sister-in-law, Frances Lyttle, Ellershouse; several nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by brothers, Bert, Roland, Fred, and Lyman Lyttle; sisters, Helen Williams, Mary Spence, Ruth Henderson, Doris MacBurnie, and June Craig. Arrangements are under the care of Lindsay’s Windsor Funeral Home (902-798-2232), 194 King Street, P.O. Box 2218, Windsor, B0N 2T0. There was no visitation at Boyd’s request. A public graveside service was 3:30 p.m. Wednesday, January 21, 2015, in the Oak Hill Cemetery, Ellershouse. The Rev. Christa Anderson officiated, followed by a reception at the home of Bobby & Betty Williams, Ellershouse. In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Boyd, were requested to be made to the Palliative Care (Hants Community Hospital).
