AUDREY DOREEN MORTON

(nee Jutte)
Born February 17, 1926 in Vancouver, Audrey passed away peacefully on January 9, 2015 at the George Derby Centre surrounded by family: Dave her husband of 67 years; children Ken (Judy), Valerie (Gordon), David (Shirley), Jamie (Sheila) and Glenn (Christie); grandchildren Jennifer, Trevor, Kathleen, Renee, Sean, Carolyn, Elizabeth, and Kevin.
Audrey completed her piano teaching certificate (ARCT) while at Magee Secondary School, and an honours degree in Bacteriology at UBC in 1947 where she met Dave, a war veteran. They raised their family in Kitimat where she was an active community member volunteering in the concert association, the hospital auxiliary, the hospital board, teaching piano, accompanying many soloists and Handel’s Messiah with United Church Choir. They spent one year in Abbotsford followed by a long retirement on the waterfront in Gibsons where she could join her sister Carol for a Sunday symphony in Vancouver. Audrey was a founding member of the Canadian Federation of University Women - Sunshine Coast branch.
Dave and Audrey enjoyed Scottish country dancing together for many years.
Thanks, Mum, for your lifelong support as a loving wife and mother. Rest in peace.
