WHITTEN (Crummey), Blanche Eva — Passed peacefully away at home in the presence of her children, after a short illness with cancer at the age of 81. Born March 16, 1927 in New Waterford, Nova Scotia. Daughter of the late James Stewart Crummey, MBE. and Ina Mae Loveys. Also predeceased by her son Darryl, sisters: Vera, Agnes, Doris, Serena and Hilda. Survived by her eight children: Carole (Bill), Middle Sackville, Nova Scotia, Jeannette, Halifax, Nova Scotia, Cyril (Carla), St. Phillips, Trudy, Vancouver, British Columbia, Wayne, Red Deer, Alberta, Nancy, Bedford, Nova Scotia, Stewart (Judy), Mount Pearl, Christopher (Cathy), St. John’s. Grandchildren: Mark, Geoffrey, Tara, Darryl, Kimberley and Tia and great-grandchildren: Hope and Taylor. And many other nieces, nephews, family and a large circle of friends. Resting at Barrett’s Funeral Home, 328 Hamilton Avenue on Monday and Tuesday from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Funeral service at Barrett’s Chapel on Thursday, January 15, 2009 with Interment at Mount Pleasant Cemetery.
