
Roberta "Midge" MacAleese
MacAleese, Roberta A. “Midge” - 75, of Parrsboro passed away Sunday, January 18, 2015 at the Infirmary Site, QEII Health Sciences Centre, Halifax surrounded by her loved ones. Born in New Prospect, she was a daughter of the late Robert and Lavenia (Fife) MacAleese. Midge was a graduate of the Nova Scotia Hospital School of Nursing, and was very proud of her long and dedicated career as a nurse. She enjoyed quilting, knitting, baking, gardening, her church and work with the A.C.W., church teas, going to yard sales with her best friend, Shirley Brown, singing and playing music with her family and friends. She is survived by her son, Mark Trembley (Jodie), Beaver Bank; sisters, Muriel Goodwin-Butts (Fred), Dartmouth; Myrna MacBurnie (Trueman), Five Islands; Marion MacAleese (Dr. Edward Ross), Halifax; brothers, Michael (Marilyn), Parrsboro; Wilson “Tooter”, Dutch Settlement; Allan “Ebby” (Jackie), Bracebridge, Ont.; Kevin (Mandy), Lower Sackville; granddaughter, Allison Trembley, Halifax; goddaughter, Jacquelyn Lucas, Halifax; several nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by an infant sister, Mona; brothers, Robert, Wyman “Jake” and Allison “Bubber”. Funeral 2 p.m. on Friday [January 23, 2015] at St. George’s Anglican Church, Parrsboro, Rev. Tory Byrne officiating. Burial in church cemetery. Reception to follow in the St. George’s Anglican Church Hall, Parrsboro. Memorial donations may be made to St. George’s Anglican Church.
