The death occurred peacefully and surrounded by family members at the Prince County Hospital, Summerside, on Wednesday, January 14, 2009, of Maude Lorrene Williams (nee Savidant) of Summerside, P.E.I., age 80 years. Maude was born on January 12, 1929, in Charlottetown, P.E.I., to her late parents, Vince and Mary Ann (nee Bernard) Savidant. Beloved wife of the late Ernest M. Williams and loving mother of Jim (Gloria McKinnon) of Summerside. Also lovingly remembered by her granddaughters, Yolande Williams of Toronto, Ont., and Lise Williams of Moncton, N.B., along with their mother, Yvonne Gallant; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. Survived by her sisters, Gertrude Trainor of Summerside, Theresa (Keith) Aldrich of Ontario, Marie Richard of Ontario; and her sister-in-law, Mildred Savidant of Summerside. Besides her husband and her parents, Maude was predeceased by her sisters and brothers, Laura (Leo) Roy, Vincent Savidant, Frank (Freda) Savidant, Doris (Harry) Poulton, Florence (Frank) Clow, Leonard (Joan) Savidant; her brothers-in-law, Emmett Trainor and Alcide Richard; and her nephews, Billy Poulton, Claude and Freeman Vessey. Resting at the East Prince Funeral Home, 245 Pope Rd., Summerside, until Saturday, January 17, 2009, then to St. Paul's Church, Summerside, for funeral mass at 2 p.m. Interment to take place in the church cemetery at a later date. Visiting hours on Friday, 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Memorial donations in Maude's memory to the Prince County Hospital Foundation would be greatly appreciated.
