Yorke, Clayton T. – 90, of Halifax, and formerly of Wharton, Cumberland County passed away on Saturday, January 24, 2015 at the VG Site, QEII, Halifax surrounded by his loving family. Born in Wharton, he was a son of the late Harry and Gertrude (Yorke) Yorke. Clayton worked with Maritime Tel and Tel for 37 years, retiring in 1981. He was an avid gardener, enjoyed camping, fishing, bowling and helping with church suppers. He was a life member of St. Paul’s United Church, Spryfield. He is survived by his wife, Christena “Chrissie” (Manuge) Yorke; a daughter, Susan “Sue” (Les) Moulton, Halifax; sisters, Helen Terfry, Diligent River; Madeline Terfry, Parrsboro; several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by sisters, Marion, Doris; brothers, Basil, Hilton, Lorway. Visitation noon until 2 p.m. on Thursday [January 29, 2015] at Smith’s Funeral Home, Parrsboro, where funeral service will follow at 2 pm, Keith Selwyn-Smith, DLM officiating.
