ATWOOD, Cecil Atwood, 77. It is with great sadness the family of Cecil Robert Nickerson announces his passing on Sunday, January 25, 2015. Born March 6, 1937 in Lower Clark’s Harbour he was the son of the late Arthur and Clara (Stoddard) Atwood. Cecil worked as a meat cutter, fish plant laborer and fisherman but his greatest passion was deer hunting and spending time in the woods. He was also President of the Residents Council at Roseway Manor. Cecil is survived by his wife, Glenora (Nickerson); sons, Monty, Clyde River; Troy, Barrington; Trebor, Barrington; Dwayne (Tammy), Clark’s Harbour; grandsons, Robert (Twyla), Clark’s Harbour; Graham, Clark’s Harbour; great-grandchildren, Jaylyn, Camo, Piper; brother, Frederick (Kaye), Clyde River; sister, Nora (Harold) Deveau, Bridgewater; several nieces, nephews and cousins; and all of his wonderful friends at Roseway Manor. Cecil was predeceased by grandson, Andrew; brothers, Leslie, Laurie, Ellie, Joe, Lindy, Clayton; sisters, Helen, Julia, Goldie and Alice. There will be a visitation held Tuesday and Wednesday nights, 7-9 p.m. at the H. M. Huskilson’s Funeral Home, Barrington. The funeral service will be held Thursday, January 29, at 2 p.m. from the H. M. Huskilson’s Memorial Chapel, Barrington, with Pastor Gary Cunningham officiating. Memorial donations may be made to Crohn’s and Colitis Canada.
