Passed peacefully away at St. Patrick's Mercy Home on January 25th. Leaving to mourn: daughter Jane Bennett (Paul), son Tim Wadden, niece, Lynn Foley Hale, all in Alberta as well as four grandchildren: Paul, Joshua, Natasha and Nicholas. She also leaves devoted cousins, Donna Gover, Carol Ann Smith, Barbara Pollock and Trudy Hellings. Also her very best friend Mary Rockwell and a large circle of other close relatives and friends. Predeceased by her mother, Ethel (Oliphant) Duffy, her father and step-mother Gus and Betty Duffy and her darling sister Gerry Foley. Sincere gratitude to the dedicated staff at Hillcrest Estates and St. Patrick's Mercy Home for the exceptional care given Joan. Cremation has taken place with funeral arrangements entrusted to Carnell's Funeral Home, 329 Freshwater Road. A Memorial service will be held this summer in St. John's with details to be announced at a later date. Donations in Joan's memory may be made to the Alzheimer's Society or the Diabetes Association.
