Age 80 years. It is with heavy and saddened hearts that we announce the passing of a gentle loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother Lucy Newman of Bell Island, NL. Predeceased by husband William, (Dec. 16/2013), Mother and Father, Arthur and Madeline Reid, Brothers: Sydney, Bill, Arthur and Gordon, Sisters: Lillian and Sarah, special granddaughter Denise (1983). Leaving to mourn her children: Mary (Andy), Sarnia, Ont. Lillian Gosse (Gordon), Bell Island, Marilyn Purcell (Rich) Harbour Grace, Norm Newman (Judy), Bell Island, Nelson Newman, Torbay, Beverly Maloney (Mike), Bell Island, Billy Newman (Phyllis), Manuals C.B, Roger Newman (April), Alberta. One Brother Dougal Reid (Sally), Bell Island, her precious grandchildren, great grandchildren, numerous friends and family. A very special thanks to the nurses and staff at the Walter Templeman Hospital , Bell Island, her home support workers, Tara Saunders and Georgina Blackwood also Trembletts (Fewer) Ambulance Service, Bell Island. Resting at Pendergast's Funeral Home, Bell Island, Tuesday and Wednesday 12 pm-9 pm. Funeral Service to take place on Thursday, Jan, 29/2015 at 2 pm from the New Anglican Church.
