ROSE, DAVID KEITH
It is with deep sadness that we announce the death of our beloved David Keith Rose. David died on 9 January, 2015, in Calgary, Alberta, at the age of 65. David was born in Gander, Newfoundland, to Pamela and the late James Rose.
At a young age, David moved to Moncton, New Brunswick, where he attended Bessborough School and Moncton High School. David spent many idyllic summers at the family cottage at Johnston's Point, where he learned to sail in a boat Jim built. David completed his last year of high school in St. John's and went on to graduate from U.N.B. with a degree in survey engineering. This took him to Ottawa, where he worked for Energy Mine and Resources for twenty years, then on to Calgary with Geological Survey of Canada. David delighted in skiing and hiking in the Rockies, as well as canoeing and kayaking off the coast of British Columbia.
David leaves his cherished mother Pam, as well as his sisters June (Ron Anderson), and Deborah (John Emerton), all of Kingston, Ontario. David was the cherished husband of Anne, of Calgary, and adored father of Jessica and Brenna, both of Edmonton. David will be sadly missed as the dear, funny, smart uncle of Stacey, Kate, Jamie, Chrissy, James and Peter.
David was taken too soon by Non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma. He was a strong supporter of clinical trials. Any donations in his memory can be made to the Alberta Cancer Foundation in support of research.
