Mary Cecilia Weaver

Mary Cecilia Weaver of Charlottetown, and formerly of Halifax, passed away peacefully at Whisperwood Villa on Sunday, February 8, 2015, at the age of 104.
Mary was born in Halifax on February 1, 1911. She was a survivor of The Halifax Explosion which took place December 6, 1917.
Beloved wife of the late Edward Francis Weaver. Married 64 years before Edward’s passing in December 2007. Dear mother of Linda Boyle (Stanley) of Charlottetown, and Dianne Silverthorne (Randy) of London, ON. Mother-in-law of Diana Weaver. Mary is fondly and lovingly remembered by her grandchildren, Bob (Kathy) Weaver, Sean (Caroline Canning) Weaver, Paula Laybolt (Mike), Shauna Milley (Brian), Jason Boyle (Shelley Blaquiere), Joanne Nicholls and Tracy-Lynn Olthoff (Jeff); 11 great-grandchildren, David, Coralee, Kali, Maggie, Melissa, Ashley, Emma, Jacob, Logan, Scott and Adam; and one step great-granddaughter, Krystal.
She was predeceased by her son, Bruce; grandson, David Weaver; grandson-in-law, Fred Tibbo; and her parents, William Patrick “Paddy” and Edith Frances (Gardiner) Anderson. Being the last surviving member of her immediate family she was also predeceased by brothers and sisters: Bill, Fred, Bernard, Percy, Edith “Mae”, Gertrude, Gordon and Doris.
Resting at the Hennessey Cutcliffe Charlottetown Funeral Home for visitation on Tuesday from 6 to 8 p.m. The funeral will be held on Wednesday with funeral mass from St. Pius X Church at 11:30 a.m. Interment will take place later in the family plot in the Roman Catholic Cemetery, Charlottetown.
If so desired, donations in Mary’s memory may be made to the CNIB.
The family would like to thank the staff of Whisperwood Villa for the wonderful care given to Mary over the past 9 years.
