Rogers, James (Jim) Arthur, age 67 of Yarmouth died suddenly on February 4, 2015 at home. Born June 30, 1947 in Yarmouth, N.S., he was the son of the late Arthur and Norma Mae (Lamrock) Rogers. He owned and operated Jim’s Taxi also he drove the bus for the Yarmouth-Argyle Transit. A people person, he enjoyed stock car racing and NASCAR, and also enjoyed watching wrestling. He is survived by his wife of 42 years Marilyn, daughter Lisa (Stewart Clairmont) of Lloydminster, Alberta; a son Stephen (Shelley) of Surette’s Island; a brother Wayne Rogers of Halifax; sisters Dorothy (Wesley) of North Ohio, Yarmouth Co., Sharon Rhyno of Yarmouth, Linda (Art) Porter of Argyle, Yarmouth Co. N.S. Three grandsons Andrew, Connor and Hunter, three granddaughters Chelsea, Amber and Bailey; and one great granddaughter Talia. He was predeceased by two brothers Roy and Clyde. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Sweeny’s Funeral Home and Crematorium, Yarmouth. Visitation was held Sunday February 8, 2015 from 2-4pm and 7-9 p.m. in Sweeny’s Funeral Home Chapel. A funeral service was held Monday February 9, 2015 at 2 p.m. in Sweeny’s Funeral Home Chapel, Rev. A.D. Bill Newell officiated. Spring burial will be in the Yarmouth Mountain Cemetery. Donations in memory may be made to the Nova Scotia Heart and Stroke Foundation, the Canadian Diabetic Association or charity of your choice.
