It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Reginald McCarthy, after a hard-fought lengthy illness, surrounded by his devoted family, at Juravinski Hospital, on Feb. 6, 2015, at the age of 75. Beloved husband of Rosalie for 50 years. Loving father of Mary Lee (Giancarlo) Lancia, Paul (Rosemary), Joseph (Cheryl), and Lori Ann (Mike) Giacomelli. Proud Grampy of Vannessa, Joey, Meghan, Sierra, Kyra, Rachel, Cavin, and Naomi. Predeceased by his parents Justin and Mildred, and his siblings Irene (late Gar) Ellis, Joe, Betty Potter, and Stella Gallant. Survived by his stepmother Bertha Gallant and his siblings Hazel (late Reg) Richard, Jean (Clarence) Clements, Peggy (Morgan) Ellsworth, Charlie (Helen), Sandra Wood, and Mary (Eric) Perry, all of P.E.I.; Joanne (Pat) Bernard and Norman of Ontario. His twinkling blue eyes, easy smile and sense of humour will be sorely missed by his many nieces and nephews, extended family and friends in Hamilton and on P.E.I. West, Hamilton, Ont., on Wednesday, Feb. 11, at 10:30 a.m. Burial to follow at Resurrection Cemetery, Ancaster. In lieu of flowers, for those who wish, donations in memory of Reg to the Parkinson Society Canada would be sincerely appreciated by the family.
