TRITES, MARY ESTELLE
Mary E. Trites, 90, of the Drew Nursing Home, Sackville and formerly of Third St., Moncton, passed away peacefully at her residence on Monday, February 9, 2015. Born in Blackland, NB, she was married to the late Reginald Irving Trites for 51 years. She was the daughter of the late Clinton and Stella (MacNair) Miller.
Mary moved to Moncton after completing her Business degree in Campbellton, NB. She worked at Eaton’s Business Office for several years. Mary was a domestic engineer throughout her married life, until her children were grown. In later years, Mary worked at Reitman’s and the Coliseum. She brought fun and laughter to all who knew her! Mary enjoyed volunteering with the Atlantic Symphony Orchestra and the Heart & Stroke Foundation. She loved to dance and belonged to Charlie’s Angels Round Dance Club, Hobans Heroes Square Dance Club and was also a member of Mud River Cloggers. She loved to shop and garden. Mary and Reg enjoyed camporees and skits.
Special thanks to the Westford Nursing Home, who started this Palliative journey with us, as well as to the staff of the Drew Nursing Home. Words cannot express the excellent care, love and support that was shown to Mary and her family. Also, thanks to special life-long friend, Mary Powers and neighbors Lawson and Susan Steeves for always being there.
Mary will be sadly missed by her son, Shayne (John Clement); daughters, Vicki Trites and Cathy (Derrick Crandall); grandchildren, Matthew, Angela (Rob Flanagan), Michael Crandall (Leanna) and Patricia; two great-grandchildren, Ben and Skyelar; sister, Margaret MacDonald and brother, Eric Miller (Theresa).
In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her brother-in-law, Allison MacDonald.
In keeping with Mary’s wishes, there will be no visitation hours or funeral service. A graveside service will be held at Pine Hill Cemetery at a later date. Fergusons Funeral Home, 1657 Mountain Road, Moncton (858-1995) in care of arrangements.
