It is with great sadness that the family of the late Bernie MacNeil announce his passing at Western Memorial Regional Hospital on Wednesday, February 11, 2015 at the age of 82 years. He will be deeply missed by his son Bernard Browner (Lori); his pride and joy, grand-daughter Marissa, and a large circle of very, very special friends. Bernie was a longtime member of the Royal Canadian Legion, a past member of the Corner Brook Rotary & Blomidon Clubs, and the Corner Brook Bridge Club. He was predeceased by his wife Mable MacNeil (2012) and his three sisters: Margaret Jean Browner, Ann Marie MacNeil Masse, and Marjorie Aikens (Chuck). In keeping with Bernie's wishes, cremation has taken place. Friends may visit Country Haven Funeral Home, 167 Country Road on Thursday 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. The funeral service will take place at Country Haven Chapel on Friday, February 13, 2015 at 10:30 a.m. with Father Tony Soosai officiating. Interment will follow at Mount Patricia Cemetery. As expressions of sympathy, in lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Diabetic Association, the Heart & Stroke Foundation, or the Western Memorial Hospital Foundation.
