James Marr
MARR, JAMES "JIM" VINCENT
It is with great sadness the family announces the death of Jim Marr after a short bout with cancer.
He was born in Saint John on July 8, 1939 and was the son of Roy and Winnifred (White) Marr-Jones and step-son of Ernie Jones. Jim was also a loving husband to Carol for 52 years until her passing in 2012. He was a loving and devoted husband, father and grandfather. Whenever you would talk about his family, especially his grandchildren, his heart would swell with pride.
In the early years, he worked for Saint John Dry Dock, then International Harvester and in 1967, he started his own business, Marr’s Auto Service Ltd. And Marr’s Towing. In the 1970s he also had a trucking company called D & J Trucking and was a shareholder in Kings Co. Transport Ltd. After selling Marr’s Towing in the 1990s he changed the name from Marr’s Auto to KV Auto and it still operates under this name to date. Jim also enjoyed his 30 some years at his summer place in Long Reach.
Jim will be greatly missed by his sons Steven (Lori) and Trevor (Christina); sister Eleanor Lamrock (Len); his pride and joy, grandchildren Tyler, Bradley and Jaxson; special nephew Jeff Lamrock (Pam) and their children Ashley, Michael and Andrew; sisters-in-law Joan Allen and Sally Folkins (Blair); close family friend and loyal employee to Jim for 35 years, Norma MacLean, as well as several extended family members.
Along with his parents, step-father and beloved wife Carol, Jim was predeceased by his brother-in-law Art Allen.
