COGSWELL, DOUG
At the Ridgewood Veterans Wing, Saint John, NB, on Saturday, February 14th, 2015; Jack "Doug" Vincent Cogswell, formerly of St. Stephen, NB, husband of the late Dorothy (McLeod) Cogswell and the late Doris (Leslie) Cogswell. Born in Fredericton, NB he is the son of the late Robert and Margaret (Morris) Cogswell.
A veteran of World War II, Doug enlisted at the age of 23 years old with the Royal Rifles of Canada in December of 1944. He served with the Armed Forces in Canada, the United Kingdom and Continental Europe. He received the 1939 - 45 Star; France - Germany Star; and the Canadian Volunteer Service Medal & Clasp.
Doug is survived by his children; son Larry, of St Stephen, NB, Michael (Maria) of St. Catherine's ON, grandchildren Jennifer and Stephanie, daughter Catherine Goleniec (Tony) of St. Stephen, NB, grandchildren Michael and Jamie, son Brian of Calais, ME, and son Joey (Amanda) of St. Stephen, NB, grandchildren Jessica and Nicholas, sister Joyce Harvey of Dartmouth, NS, brother Dale of Pickering, ON, several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Doug was predeceased by two sisters Phyllis and Margaret.
By Dougs' request there will be no visitation. A graveside service will take place in the spring at St. Stephen Rural Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers donations to the Ridgewood Veterans Wing in Saint John, NB would be appreciated by the family.
