The death occurred at the Prince County Hospital, Summerside, surrounded by his family on Sunday, Feb. 15, 2015, of Lemand Delaney, St. Edward, aged 74 years. Beloved husband of Flo (Florina) Delaney, nee Bernard. He was born in Miminegash on July 14, 1940, the son of the late Austin and Charlotte (Lottie Hustler) Delaney. Dear father to Corinna (Joey) Butler; Colleen (David) Richard; Christine (Alyre) Butler; Luanne (Darryl) Gavin; Rodney (Isabel) Delaney; Brian (Mary) Delaney; Terry (Tammy) Delaney; Troy Delaney, Tyler Delaney, and loving grandfather to 42 grandchildren and 40 great-grandchildren. He is survived by siblings Ann McPhee; Mary Margaret (Mazie) Wood; Fred Byers; Elsie Perry (Frankie); Sybil Wedge (Howlan); Austie and Jerry (June) Delaney. He is also survived by in-laws Mary Ypi; Anna (Chester) Smith; Olive (Charlie) Dunn; Emile (Arlene) Bernard and Marie Bernard. He was predeceased by parents Austin and Lottie, sons Ritchie and Darren, sister Kay (Gerald) 2005, brothers Frank and Al, sisters and brother in infancy Sybil, Ida, Pauline, Elva and Chester, sister-in-law May (Claude) McKenna, brother-in-law Johnny Bernard, and, in infancy Yvonne, Leo, Ceo, Emmanuel, Frederic, Anne Marie and Rex. Resting at the West Prince Funeral Home, 522 Thompson Road, Palmer Road, for visiting hours, Wednesday 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. and Thursday 1-2:30 p.m. Funeral will be held Thursday, Feb. 19, at the Immaculate Conception Church, Palmer Road, with funeral mass at 3 p.m. Memorial donations to the Immaculate Conception Church Repair Fund would be appreciated. Interment will take place in the church cemetery at a later date.
