Mary Storm
STORM, MARY LILLIAN
It is with sadness that the family of Mary Lillian Storm announces her passing at York Care Centre on February 21, 2015 in her 89th year. Mary was born in Woodstock, New Brunswick to the late Albert and Ada Standbridge on June 5th, 1925.
Mary served her country during the Second World War with the Canadian Women’s Army Corp. After her service, Mary made a 35 year career with Canada Mortgage and Housing helping young New Brunswickers buy their first home. After retirement Mary spent as much time as possible with nature. She was an avid fisher and hunter, she enjoyed her garden and reading a good book. Her fondest memories would be the times she spent at the family cottage in Scotchtown on Grand Lake, and at their winter home in Venice, Florida with Richard, her loving husband.
Mary is survived by husband, Richard Storm; step-daughters, Pam (Ken Jones) and Lorie and cousins, Doris Stairs of Fredericton, NB and Ruth Haney of Houlton, ME.
She was predeceased by several aunts, uncles, and cousins.
There will be no visitation. A memorial service will be held at the J. A. McAdam Memorial Chapel on Tuesday, February 24, 2015 at 2:00 pm with Rev. Gordon Cook officiating. A reception will be held in the adjoining room following the service. Interment will take place in the Douglas Rural Cemetery at a later date.
For those who wish, memorial donations can be made to the Lakeville Corner Baptist Church, or to a charity of the donor's choice.
