CHURCHILL, Mabel Rhubena - age 88, of the Meadow's Home for Special Care passed away during the early morning hours of February 20, 2015. Born in Boston, Massachusetts on February 26, 1926, she was the only child of the late Basil and Emma Conrad. Mabel was a homemaker, devoted wife, caring mother, grandmother, and great grandmother who took great pride in both home and family and she was also a breast cancer survivor. In her spare time she loved to listen to music, especially Sentimental Journey. She also enjoyed knitting and an avid reader and was a member of the Pleasant Lake Baptist Church. She is survived by her loving husband of over 70 years Ralph Churchill; daughters, Gaile (Roger) Smith, Raynardton; Catherine (Wayne) Hopkins, Plymouth; son, Kenneth Churchill, Bridgewater; step-son, Keith; grandchildren, Krista (Keir) Smith, Paula (George) Watkins, Gina (Harold) Smith, Ryan and Nicole; great grandchildren, Dawson and Marissa Hadley, Meggan and Josh Watkins, Tristan Thibeau, William and Benjamin Anthony. Besides her parents she was predeceased by her son, Malcolm. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Sweeny's Funeral Home and Crematorium, Yarmouth. Visitation was held Sunday, February 22, 2015 from 1-2 p.m. in Sweeny's Funeral Home Chapel where a funeral service was held at 2 p.m., Rev. Donald Moses officiated. Interment will take place in Plymouth Cemetery at a later date. Family flowers only please.
