Charlotte Larson age 97 years of Shaunavon, Saskatchewan and formerly of Swift Current, Saskatchewan died on Monday, February 16, 2015 at Shaunavon Hospital & Care Centre following a brief illness.
Charlotte was born on July 4, 1917 on the family farm in the Admiral, Saskatchewan district. She attended Congress School in the Admiral district. She married Arvid Larson at Swift Current on December 30, 1936. They lived and farmed in the Congress district. Charlotte served as secretary for Congress School for many years. She was a member of Clara Lutheran Church and the Ladies Aid. She moved to Swift Current in the fall of 1966 where she worked at Swift Current Hardware and A & W for a number of years. She enjoyed square and round dancing and she liked to travel. She was a member of St. Olaf Lutheran Church in Swift Current.
Charlotte was predeceased by her husband Arvid on June 30, 1958; sister Eileen and brother-in-law Oscar Moberg; sister Hannah and brother-in-law Bud Campbell; sister Marion and brother-in-law George Barabee; brother-in-law Bill Ross; brother Carl Spetz; brother-in-law Adrian Barabee; brother Gordon Spetz and sister-in-law Linda; brother Ronald Spetz; brother-in-law Stan Wilson; and sister Palma Spetz.
She is survived by daughter Annie Poff (Del) of Shaunavon; grandson Justin Poff (Colleen) of Lethbridge, great grandson Garwin (Rebeca) and great great grandchildren Kyus and Katie, great granddaughter Amanda Gergly (Chad), great granddaughter Lindsay Ranson (Jeff) and great granddaughter Samantha Poff; granddaughter Bridget Hamilton (Dick) of Settler, Alberta, great granddaughter Chrystal McLellan (Scott) and great great grandchildren Carsen and Gunnar, great granddaughter Cherie Cursoriter (Adam) and great grandson R. J. Wiebe (Kayla); daughter Betty Selvig (Norman) of Shaunavon; grandson Wade Selvig of Shaunavon and granddaughter Sharon Cooper (Brent) of Calgary and great grandchildren Quinn, Aidan and Meaghan; son Carl Larson (Kim) of Admiral; granddaughter Shelley Larson (Tyler Monroe) of Swift Current, grandson Ryan Larson (Kylie Entem) of Shaunavon and great grandsons Brock, Blaze and Ryker, grandson Derek Larson (Julia) of Toronto and granddaughter Tara Larson of Saskatoon; sister Agnes Ross of Winnipeg; sister-in-law Joan Spetz of Admiral; sister Elnore Barabee of Edmonton; sister Kathleen Wilson of Edmonton; brother Vernon Spetz (Sally) of Swift Current; and brother Glen Spetz (Denise) of Swift Current; as well as by numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral Services will be held from St. Olaf Lutheran Church in Swift Current on Saturday, February 28, 2015 at 2:00 p.m. with Pastor Linda Hall officiating and eulogy by Bridget Hamilton. Honorary Pallbearers are her grandchildren. Urn bearers are Justin and Colleen Poff, readers are Sharon Cooper and Derek Larson and ushers are Gordie Campbell and Dale Moberg. Special Music by Del Poff and Friends: Del Poff, Shaunavon, Brian Anderson, Hazlet, Terry Winter, Tompkins, Jason Huss, Shaunavon and Dennis Chenard, Cadillac. Interment of her cremated remains will take place at a later date at Mount Pleasant Burial Park in Swift Current.
