DEVEAU, SISTER RITA
Sister Rita Deveau, ndsc, in religion Marie-Denise, of Maison-mère des Religieuses Notre-Dame-du-Sacré-Coeur, Moncton, passed away on Sunday February 22, 2015 at the convent where she resided following a lengthy illness. She was 97 and in her 79th year of her religious life. Born on June 9, 1917 in Météghan, N.S., she was the daughter of the late Denise and Lucie (Doucet) Deveau.
Besides her religious family, she is survived by one sister, Rose, and several nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by three sisters: Élizabeth, Louise and Aline; three brothers: Victor, Hubert and Jean-Louis.
Sister Deveau will be resting at the Notre-Dame-d’Acadie Pavillion of the Maison-mère, 125 King Street, Moncton (Godfrey Lane entrance) on Friday from 2 to 9 pm and on Saturday from 9 am until the funeral mass. Solemn Vespers will be held on Friday evening at 7 pm. The funeral mass will be celebrated on Saturday February 28, 2015 in the Maison-mère chapel at 10 am. Interment will be in Memramcook.
