ADAMS, MARY ELIZABETH "BESSIE"
1926-2015
Miramichi – Mary Elizabeth "Bessie" Adams, widow of the late Gordon J. Adams, of Little Branch Road, Black River Bridge, passed away at the Miramichi Regional Hospital, on Wednesday, February 11, 2015, at the age of 88. Born in Bay du Vin Beach, on June 9, 1926, she was the daughter of the late Elmer and Helen (Williston) McLeod.
She was a homemaker and an adherent of St. John the Evangelist Anglican Church, Bay du Vin.
She is survived by seven daughters, Eunice Wilcox (Tom), of Winnipeg, Man., Minnie Simpson, of Miramichi, Marguerite Barry (Robert), of Miramichi, Hilda Rocca (Ray), of Saint John, Pauline Adams, of Miramichi, Christina Adams, of Black River Bridge, Norma Mutch (Scott), of Strathadam; six sons, George, of Black River Bridge, Arthur (Lylla), of Napan, Brian (Devida), of Miramichi, Alfred (Ann), of Williamstown, Dennis, of Black River Bridge, Donald (Kim), of Miramichi; twenty grandchildren; twenty-seven great-grandchildren; one brother, Andrew McLeod, of Bay du Vin Beach.
She was predeceased by her husband, Gordon, in 1987; two sons, Auley and Jackie Adams; one brother, George McLeod.
Visitation will be at Adams Funeral Home Ltd., 140 King St., on Sunday, March 8th, from 1 to 4 pm. Funeral service will be held from St. John the Evangelist Anglican Church, Bay du Vin, on Monday, March 9th, 2015, at 1 pm, conducted by Rev. Robert Barry. Interment will be in the Black River Community Cemetery, later in the spring.
