The death occurred at his late residence, on Monday, January 19, 2009, of John Quigley, of Borden-Carleton, aged 88 years. Born in Victoria, P.E.I., he was the son of the late Frank and Frances "Fannie" (Riley) Quigley. Survived by his wife Hazel (Gunning) Quigley; children Gail (Harry) Leard, Searletown; Carol (Gary) Harrington, Fredericton, N.B.; Brenda (John) Newcombe, Summerside; Eric (Arlene), Borden-Carleton; Leona Quigley, at home; Lauretta (Donald) Leard, Searletown; Kent (Heather), North Bedeque; 16 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren; and by a sister Mary Matheson, Toronto, Ont. Predeceased by a sister Thelma Cairns and by brothers-in-law James Matheson and Wilbur Cairns. Resting at the Moase Funeral Home, Summerside, until Thursday, then to the Cape Traverse United Church, for funeral service at 1:30 p.m. Interment in the Cape Traverse United Church Cemetery. Visiting hours Wednesday from 6-9 p.m. Memorial donations to the Prince County Hospital Foundation or the Heart and Stroke Foundation would be appreciated.
