LANIGAN, RAYMOND COURTNEY
(1929 - 2015)
REXTON, NB - Raymond Lanigan 85, of Rexton passed away peacefully at the Dr. Georges-L. Dumont University Hospital Center, Palliative Care Unit, Moncton, NB on Friday, March 6, 2015 after a brief illness. Born in Rexton, he was one of twelve children, the son of the late Arthur Lanigan and late Mary Elizabeth (Courtney) Lanigan.
Before retiring, Raymond was employed at the Department of Transportation. He volunteered his time with many organizations within his community of Rexton.
Raymond will be sadly missed by his three children, Brian Lanigan (Betty) of Ottawa, Stephen Lanigan (Carmen) of Riverview, Pamela Robichaud (Joseph) of Rexton; three grandchildren, Natasha Mitchell (Wayne), Jaret Robichaud (Loraine), Aimee Robichaud (Jeremy); four great-grandchildren and one awaiting great-grandchild. He is also survived by one sister, Vera Lambert (Louis) of Florida; one brother, Murray Lanigan (late Mary) of Nova Scotia and his many nieces and nephews whom he enjoyed their visits to Rexton. Also, his Mother's family in the UK which was especially a great part of his life and continuous connection to them in England. He may not have expressed his love but he told the stories.
Raymond was predeceased by his parents, his wife, Florence (Beattie) Lanigan (2014) and nine brothers and sisters, Katherine, Gordon, Leslie, Kenneth, Francis, Mary, Harold, Eileen, William and special aunt, Ann Caisson.
Family ties are broken, until we meet again… So long dear Dad, Luv ya Pup!
Arrangements will be announced at a later date.
Donations in Raymond`s memory may be made to the Diabetes Association or NB Heart and Stroke would be appreciated by the family.
