It is with deep sadness that we, the family, announce the passing of Kathleen 'Kay' Boudreau, 79, of New Waterford on March 8, 2015 at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital, Sydney.
Born in New Waterford, she was a daughter of the late Walter and Euphrasia (Petrie) Ellsworth.
Kay was a member of Mount Carmel Parish, currently the Parish Church of St. Leonard, New Waterford. She was a graduate of St. Joseph's School of Nursing in Glace Bay.
Kay is survived by her husband of 54 years, Albert 'A.J.' Boudreau; children, Paul, P.E.I., Paulette, Dartmouth, N.S., Andre, London, Ont., Mary Beth 'Bess', Dartmouth, N.S.; sister Agnes Green, Carlisle, Ont.; several nieces and nephews.
Besides her parents, Kay was predeceased by brothers, William 'Bill', Joseph 'Jody', sisters, Mary Sutherland and Sr. Margaret Ellsworth.
Visitation will be held Tuesday, March 10, from 6-9 p.m. at V.J. McGillivray Funeral Home, 380 Smith St., New Waterford. A funeral mass of celebration will take place Wednesday, March 11 at 2 p.m. in the Parish Church of St. Leonard, Mount Carmel Avenue, with Fr. Ray Huntley officiating. A luncheon will follow at the Knights of Columbus Hall, Plummer Avenue, New Waterford. Burial will be in Mount Carmel Cemetery at a later date. Members of the Knights of Columbus will assemble for a prayer service on Tuesday, March 10 at 7 p.m. in the funeral home.
