We regret to announce the passing of Mary Walsh, 62, of Sydney Mines, on Wednesday, March 11, 2015, at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital, Sydney, after a long and courageous battle with lung cancer.
Mary was born in Sydney Mines on April 18, 1952. She was a member of St. Pius X parish.
She leaves behind to mourn her daughter, Tracy (Robert) MacMullin; son, Vince Forrest; grandchildren, Allison, Brian, Victoria, Kelsey, Zachary and Jacob and great-grandchildren, Adam and Joshua. Also left behind are her brother, Joe (Sandra); sister, Ducky 'Gene' and her companion, Wayne 'Popeye' McMullin.
Mary was predeceased by her son, Jeff Forrest; brother, Robert and sisters, Liz, Stella and Georgina.
Her family would like to thank Dr. Langley and Dr. Ritter, palliative care nurse, Cathy MacMillan, the staff at the regional hospital, and her two “Homecare Angels” Karen Devoe and Angie Barry.
A celebration of Mary’s life will be held on Friday, March 13, 2015, at 11 a.m. in J. M. Jobes Funeral Home, 635 Main St., Sydney Mines, with Deacon Greg Murphy officiating.
