RODGERS, RUSSELL
Russell Murray Rodgers left this world on March 14th, 2015 after a courageous battle with cancer. He was born on June 23, 1929 and is the eldest son of the late Thomas and Margaret Rodgers. Russell resided in Otter Lake all his life, until he and his wife Betty moved into the Loch Lomond Village.
Russell worked in the Construction Industry throughout his life and up until his retirement was a mechanic at LaFarge. Throughout the winter months he worked in the winter port. Russell owned his own trucks and was also a member of the International Operators Engineers Union. He was a very loving and caring individual who had a strong bond with his family.
Russell is survied by his cherished wife of 60 years; Betty and loving children; Irvine, Wendy (Frank) Ryan and Sally (Michael) Bourque of Baxters Corner. He is also survived by his sister, Helen Dalling. He will be forever remembered by his nine grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his brother, Gordon.
The family would like to thank the entire staff and volunteers of the Loch Lomond Village for the care shown towards Russell and our family. Especially we wish to acknowledge Dr. Lisa Yang and Sue Cole.
Russell will be resting at the Fundy Funeral Home, 230 Westmorland RD (646-2424). Visiting hours will be held on Monday, March 16th 2015 between 2:00 to 4:00 and 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. The funeral service will be held on Tuesday, March 17th at 10:00a.m from the Fundy Funeral Home Chapel.
Memorial Donations in memory of Russell may be placed towards the Canadian Cancer Society.
