Tryphosa "Phosie" Olive Carruthers
The death occurred peacefully, surrounded by her family, at Margaret Stewart Ellis Home, O’Leary, on Saturday, March 21, 2015 of Tryphosa "Phosie" Olive Carruthers of O’Leary, formerly Mt. Stewart, aged 89 years, wife of the late Allison G. Carruthers. Born on September 22, 1925 in West Point, daughter of the late Ernest and Beatrice (Bulger) MacDonald.
Loving mother to Sue (Rev. Vernon) Marsh, Knutsford; Wendy (Joe) Anderson, Dunstaffnage; Allyson-Anne (Cliff) Hayes, Sylvan Lake, AB; Sandy (Holly Noel), Mt. Albion; Norma (Kevin) Trainor, Cornwall; son-in-law, Kenny Drake, Morell; and extended family, Barry (Jeannine) LaLonde.
Phosie was predeceased by her parents; husband, Allison (2001); daughter, Laverne Drake; son, Gordon; sister, Daisy Young; brothers, Gordon and Owen.
Resting at Ferguson Funeral Home and Chapel, O’Leary, with visiting hours on Tuesday, March 24, 2015 from 6-9 p.m and until 10 a.m. Wednesday, then to St. Anthony’s Roman Catholic Church, Woodstock, for funeral mass at 10:30 a.m Interment in Corpus Christi Church Cemetery, Glenwood, in the spring.
