We, the family, regret to announce the passing of our mother, Pauline MacKeigan, at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital, Sydney on March 19, 2015.
Pauline Lived her 82 years filled with love for her family, joy, happiness and had a love for Bingo, cards and especially darts. Her favourite expression in life was “get in the room”.
Born in Glace Bay, she was the daughter of the late Paul and Mary Ann (McNeil) Nicholson.
She was a longtime citizen of Dominion and a member of St. Eugene parish.
Pauline is survived by her daughters, Mary (Butch Nega) and Jacqueline, Dominion; Paulette, Charlottetown; Millie (Arnie Yates), Glace Bay; Bernice, Fredericton; Joan (Robert Mills), Donkin; Kathryn (Gordie LeBlanc), Reserve Mines and sons, John (Christina); Toronto and Mike at home. Also 20 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren; sisters, Monica Binder and Shirley Nicholson, Dominion and brothers, Dannie, Glace Bay and Jackie, Dominion.
Predeceased by her husband, John 'Jack', sisters, Theresa Sutherland, Catherine 'Sis' Richard, brothers, Joe and George; sons-in-law, John Kay, Earl Tucker and Gary Ferguson.
Visitation for Mrs. MacKeigan will be held Thursday, March 26, 2015 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. in Patten Funeral Home, 71 Union St., Glace Bay. Funeral service will be Friday, March 27 at 11 a.m. in Immaculate Conception Church, Dominion. Burial will take place at a later date.
The family offers their special thanks to Jimmy Nicholson for his many acts of kindness and help completing the day to day things that Mom was unable to carry out but thought necessary to be done.
Many thanks to Dr. Trevor Guy and the doctors and nurses at the Glace Bay Hospital and CBRH, Sydney, for all your assistance and compassion in caring for our Mom.
