Passed on: March 22nd, 2015
It is with overwhelming sadness we share with you the passing of my husband and our father Noel Quessy. Noel passed away at the L.A. Miller Centre, Palliative Care Unit after a brief but courageous fight with cancer on Sunday, March 22, 2015, at the age of 86. Leaving with fond and loving memories his wife of 50 years Bride (Picco), his two sons Jim (Wanda) and Marcel (Gina) and step-daughter Glad Murphy (Gerry). Treasured grandchildren Amber and Riley, Angelique and Nevaeh, Geri-lynn, Jerome and Jordan as well as great grandson Jaxon will forever miss their poppy. Also left to mourn Noel's passing are brothers-in-law Ron Picco, Dave Picco (Jesse); sisters-in-law Geraldine Picco, Theresa Griffen (Dan), Josephine Picco (Johnny), Jane White (Gary), Noreen Green and Marl Lake. Noel also leaves behind a valued friend and business partner Art Stoyles, as well as special nieces Natasha and Vanessa and nephew Arthur. Many other loved and cherished nieces and nephews and a large circle of friends will also miss Noel's kind spirit. Special thanks to the nursing staff of St. Clare's 7th Floor West, as well as the exceptional caring and wonderful angels of the Palliative Care Unit at the L.A. Miller Centre who provided our father with gentle hands and helped him pass peacefully into the arms of God. Noel, you will forever be within our hearts and will live on in our memories as we live our lives and love our children as you have loved us. Cremation has taken place and a service honoring Noel's life will be announced at a later date. Donations may be made in his memory to the Canadian Cancer Society or the SPCA.
HE ONLY TAKES THE BEST
God saw you getting tired
And a cure was not to be
So he put his arms around you
And whispered, "Come to me"
With tearful eyes we watched you
And saw you pass away
Although we loved you dearly
We could not make you stay
A golden heart stopped beating
Hard working hands to rest
God broke our hearts
To prove to us
He only takes the best.
