It is with heavy hearts, we announce the sudden passing of our mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt and friend, Florence Adshade, 80, of Glace Bay. Florence passed away at her residence on Saturday, March 14, 2015.
Born in Amherst, N.S., March 13, 1935, she was the daughter of the late Aubrey and Della (Augden) Munroe. Florence was raised in the Coxheath area, but for the last 35 years had resided in Glace Bay.
Florence will be sadly missed by her, daughter, Della (Chris) Lovell, Ontario; son, Aubrey Bagnell, Glace Bay; sisters, Louise Phillipo, Coxheath, Marge (Walter) Myrosh, Ottawa, Arlene McKenzie, Sydney; brother, Raymond (Agnes) Munroe, Toronto; grandchildren, Dayna Lovell, Scott (Kelly) Lovell, Mark (Stephanie) Lovell; great-grandchildren, Ayden, Karli, Conner, Logan, Ashton, Kaiden, Ryleigh and Stella, all of Ontario, as well as many nieces, nephews and friends.
Besides her parents, she was also predeceased by her husband, Fred Adshade and her brother, Courtney Munroe.
In keeping with Florence’s wishes, there will be no visitation. Cremation has taken place under the care and direction of V.J. McGillivray Funeral Home, 16 Reserve St., Glace Bay.
A funeral service will be held at 3 p.m., Tuesday, March 31, 2015, in the funeral home chapel with Martha MacDonald officiating. Interment will take place in Forest Haven Memorial Gardens, Sydney at a later date.
As an expression of sympathy for Florence, memorial donations in her memory may be made to a charity of one’s choice.
