It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Pamela May Boutilier, 86, on Monday, March 30, 2015, at the Northside General Hospital.
Born in London, England, on Sept. 23, 1929, she was the daughter of the late Jock and Mary Emsley. She was a member of St. Ann’s Parish, Alder Point.
Pamela met the love of her life, Joseph Boutilier, during the war. They were later married and moved to Canada. Pamela spent much of her life in Alder Point, but spent her later years at the Miner’s Memorial Manor in Sydney Mines.
She is survived by her five sons, Raymond (Merle), Michael (Susan), John (Anne), Brian (Noel) and Martin; her five daughters, Carol (Murdock) Matheson, Sandra (Terry) Gear, Ann-Marie Powers, Joan (Paul) MacDonald and Corinia (Joe) MacLean. Also left to mourn are her sister, Silvia Greenaway; 20 grandchildren, 32 great-grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren.
She was predeceased by her husband, Joseph Boutilier; daughter, Catherine Boutilier; great-granddaughters, Brittany Chant and Carolanne Boutilier; sons-in-law, Hank Gear, Daniel Powers, and daughter-in-law, Heather Boutilier.

There will be no visitation. A celebration of her life will take place Thursday, April 2, 2015, at 10:30 a.m. in St. Ann Church, Alder Point, with Fr. Peter McLeod officiating. A reception will be held in the Alder Point Community Hall, following the service.
