Joan Marie Whytewood, 78, North Main Street, Westville, passed away peacefully on Saturday, April 4, 2015, at her home.
Born in New Glasgow, she was a daughter of the late Michael and Viola (Cantley) Muir of Westville.
Joan was an avid reader and gardener. She worked in retail for many years and after her retirement enjoyed her time at the cottage at Big Island where she took great pride in the flowers.
Joan will be sadly missed by her husband, Stephen; daughter, Dawn Facey (David), Westville; son, Kim (Anita), Westville; grandchildren Jennifer, Kelly, Conner, Dylan and Rilynn as well as her sister, Marlene Lawrence, Ontario, and brothers, Dougie (Margie), and Bobby (Roxanne), Ontario; Dale Muir, Westville and special friend, Dorothy “Dot” Duggan, Stellarton.
She was predeceased, besides her parents, by brothers, Roland and Wayne Muir.
Her family will receive visitors on Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at Eagles Funeral Home, Westville. Her memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday from Eagles Funeral Chapel, Westville, with Ms. Anne Hoganson officiating.
