It is with sadness we announce the passing of Marion Alward “Money” Martin (1920 -2015) on April 4, 2015 at Cumberland Regional Health Care Centre.
Born in Amherst, NS, she was a daughter of the late George and Imogene (Chapman) Allaby.
She is survived by daughters Ardath (Burtt) Barteaux and Geraldine Martin, grandchildren Blaine (Lisa) and Katherine McQueen, Kim, Victor and Leta Barteaux, great grandchildren Lana, Liam, Nicholas, Isabel, and Victor. She was predeceased by daughter Susan, son-in-law Glen, and husband Gerald Leslie (Gerry).
A lifetime resident of Amherst, she was well known for her love of the piano. She joyously shared her talent with family, friends, church and community. “ Money” was one of the original Amherst Shore summer residents and her love of the beach, especially at Cold Spring Head, lasted a lifetime.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Furlong-Jones Funeral Home, 70 Church St., Amherst, NS. Service will be at 2pm Wednesday April 8th at the funeral home with a reception to follow.
