It is with broken hearts that we the family announce the passing of Evelyn Lusk, 88, on April 11, 2015, at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital, Sydney. She was a dear mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt and friend.
Born in Sydney, she was the daughter of Florence Snow.
She enjoyed knitting, sewing and crossword puzzles. She was a member of the Sergeants Mess Mixed Dart League where she was the statistician for many years. She also was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion, Ladies Auxiliary, Branch 12.
Evelyn is survived by her children, Ernie (Glenda) Lusk, Sydney, Wilfred (Patricia) Lusk, Sydney, Joseph (Carolyn) Lusk, Howie Centre, Shirley (Frank) Jackson, Sydney; her wonderful grandchildren, Adele, Melissa and Zachary Lusk, Kamloops, B.C., Ryan Lusk, Ottawa, Derek and Kristen Lusk, Howie Centre, Christopher and Brianna Jackson, Sydney; her precious great-grandchildren, Seth, Wyatt, Arden, Braydin, Devin, Karenna, Kaimbrie and Karleigh. She is also survived by her siblings, Emmie Dunn, Lil Pasher and Ernie Ferguson as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Evelyn was predeceased by her husband Alexander 'Alex', daughter Gail as well as her siblings.
We would like to thank the doctors and staff of the Cape Breton Regional Hospital Emergency Department. Thanks also to the VON, City Homemakers and a very special thank you to Ann Gill 'her buddy' for her exceptional care.
Visitation will be held Tuesday, April 14, 2015 at the S.W. Chant & Son Funeral Home, 564 Alexandra St., Sydney from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Funeral service will take place 11 a.m. Wednesday, April 15, 2015 in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Sheldon Chant officiating.
Interment to take place at a later date in Forest Haven Memorial Gardens.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society, the Heart and Stroke Foundation or the Alzheimers Society.
